PwC Bursary Program

To support the development of future Chartered Accountants (CAs), PwC offers a comprehensive bursary program. This bursary is specifically designed for students pursuing a CA degree at a university accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA). The PwC CA bursary is available at various stages of education, from high school matriculation through to postgraduate studies. Once students complete their Certificate in the Theory of Accounting (CTA) or an honors degree, they can begin the PwC CA learnership, paving the way for a successful career in accounting.

PwC Bursary Eligibility Requirements

To be considered for the PwC bursary, applicants must meet the following general and academic criteria:

General Requirements:

  • Enrollment in Pure Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and English.
  • Strong command of the English language, with excellent communication skills.
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities, whether at school or university.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential, determination, and commitment.
  • Full-time study towards a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification at a SAICA-accredited institution.

Academic Requirements:

  • A minimum “B” symbol in Mathematics (Pure Mathematics, not Maths Literacy) in Matric.
  • A minimum “B” symbol in English (first or second language) in Matric.
  • An overall average of at least 75% in Matric.
  • An overall average of at least 70% if currently in the first or second year of study.
  • An overall average of at least 65% if currently in the third year of study.

Additional Qualities

Applicants should also possess the following personal qualities to stand out:

  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Proficiency in business, technical, and digital skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Teamwork and relationship-building skills.
