Eligibility Criteria for the OWLAG Scholarship

To qualify for the OWLAG Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Grade Level: Must be currently in Grade 7 or Grade 8 and entering Grade 8 or Grade 9 in 2024.
  • Academic Performance: Must have achieved a minimum of 70% in Mathematics and English in the Grade 6 final report.
  • Household Income: Must have a combined household income of no more than R10 000 per month (before deductions).

How to Apply for the OWLAG Scholarship

To apply, students must download and complete the OWLAG Scholarship Application Form 2024 (.pdf). When filling out the application, be sure to mention “southafricanfinders.com” in the section asking how you heard about the OWLAG Scholarship.

Submission: Applications, along with the required supporting documents, should be emailed to admissions@afrizan.co.za with the subject line “OWLAG Scholarship 2024.”

Required Documents:

  • Certified copy of the applicant’s Unabridged Birth Certificate.
  • ID photo.
  • 2022 Term 4 or Final Report showing results for all four terms.
  • Certified copies of parents’ or guardians’ ID documents.
  • Death certificates, if applicable.
  • Divorce decree including maintenance order, if applicable.
  • Proof of adoption or guardianship change, if applicable.
  • Proof of address (Municipal Account or Account Statement).
  • Parents’ or guardians’ proof of income:
    • Employed: 3 months of recent salary slips and 3 months of recent bank statements.
    • Unemployed: Affidavit and 3 months of recent bank statements.
    • Self-employed: SARS Letter or recent cash flow statement and 3 months of recent company bank statements.
    • Pension: Confirmation of monthly pension amount.
    • SASSA Grant: SASSA Grant confirmation letter.
