It provides essential materials for construction and civil markets, with operations in various provinces across South Africa and Mozambique. Afrimat Bursary Programme 2025

The Afrimat Bursary Programme is open to students from the Northern Cape pursuing studies in the following fields:

  • Engineering: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering
  • Geology
  • Environmental Studies
  • Human Resources (N4/N6 Certificate acceptable)

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible for the Afrimat Bursary, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Citizenship: Must be a South African citizen.
  • Residency: Must reside in the Northern Cape province.
  • Education: Must have completed Matric and be studying towards a National Diploma, BTech, or Bachelor’s Degree in one of the listed fields.
  • Institution: Must be registered at a recognized and accredited tertiary institution in South Africa (University, Higher Education Institution, or TVET College).
  • Academic Performance: Must have achieved a minimum average of 65% in the current year of study.
  • Health: Must be medically fit according to the Mine Health and Safety Act and Afrimat’s standards.
  • Preference: Preference will be given to students from the JTG and Tsantsabane communities and those from designated groups and historically disadvantaged backgrounds, in line with Afrimat’s Employment Equity goals.
