Elsen Academy Legacy Trust High School Scholarship South Africa 2024
ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIP PROVIDER – ELSEN ACADEMY
Elsen Academy Legacy Trust High School Scholarship South Africa | Elsen Academy is a dedicated non-profit independent school, situated in the vibrant city of Port Elizabeth. The school was first established by three visionary women, two of whom continue to serve as Directors at the Academy. They recognized a significant need for a school that would provide children with educational limitations the opportunity to thrive and succeed in their academic journeys.
In 2006, Elsen Academy began its journey in the humble Sunday school classrooms at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church. It opened its doors to just 13 pupils, marking the beginning of a transformative educational experience for many. Since then, the Academy has grown and evolved, now comprising a Primary School that caters to Grades 1 to 7, a High School that serves Grades 8 to 12, and a Vocational School that focuses on skills development rather than just academic grades.
ABOUT THE ELSEN ACADEMY HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMME
Elsen Academy is excited to invite students to apply for their high school scholarship programme for the 2024 academic year. This Legacy Trust Scholarship award is specifically aimed at students residing in Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) who are entering Grade 8 to Grade 10 and living with special needs. These special needs may include, but are not limited to, conditions such as dyslexia, ADHD, and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder). Through this initiative, the Academy hopes to support learners in their academic pursuits, providing them with an environment that embraces and accommodates their unique needs.
In celebration of the school’s 20th anniversary, two of the original founding members, Philippa Fabbri and Katherine Liebenberg, have established the Elsen Academy Legacy Trust. The primary objective of this Trust is to provide financial assistance to parents who are facing challenges in affording quality education for their children who live with learning barriers. By doing so, the Trust aims to empower high school students, allowing them to benefit from a more personalized educational approach and a nurturing learning environment that caters to their individual requirements.
