Enel Green Power South Africa (EGP SA) began in December 2008 as part of the Enel Group. EGP SA aims to boost and oversee power generation from renewable sources globally.

Enel Green Power, working with Dalitso Holdings, calls for students to apply for their bursary programme for the 2024 academic year.

The company offers bursaries for tertiary studies in ANY field, as well as for high school studies (Grade 8 to Matric). These bursaries target underprivileged youth living in the company’s operational areas in the Northern Cape, Western Cape and Free State.

This bursary aligns with the company’s aim to boost Economic Development and give deserving young candidates a chance to pursue higher education.

The Bursary covers these costs:

  • High School bursary: school fees, stationery, textbooks, school uniforms and transport costs.
  • Tertiary bursary: tuition fees, registration fees, learning material, textbook allowance, meal allowance, travel allowance, exam fees (if applicable) and university housing.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ENEL BURSARY

Applicants must meet these minimum entry criteria (failing to meet all requirements will disqualify your application):

  • You must be a South African citizen
  • You must live within 50km of Enel Sites (Garob Wind Farm, Pulida Energy, Sublunary Trading, Soetwater Wind Farm and Karusa Wind Farm), in the Free State, Northern Cape, or Western Cape (view Enel’s wind and solar plants here)
  • High school bursary: you must currently be in Grade 7 to Grade 11 and move to the next year of study in 2024
  • Tertiary bursary: you must be in Matric (in 2023) and accepted to study at University in 2024 OR have finished Matric and currently be studying
  • You must have achieved a minimum overall average of 65%
  • Your household income must be less than R357 000 per year
  • Candidates with disabilities are encouraged to apply
